Overview

Yolande is an associate in the Banking and Finance Department of our Johannesburg office and a member of the Project Finance practice.

She has experience in renewable energy projects, public private partnership transactions, corporate finance, structured finance and a bio-ethanol fuel project, acting mostly for lenders.

Yolande is working in the renewable energy and project finance space with a developing profile under the South African Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Programme.

Experience

  • Advising the Standard Bank of South Africa Limited and British International Investment plc in relation to their financing of three solar PV and battery storage projects developed in the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy’s Risk Mitigation IPP Procurement Programme.
  • Advising the Standard Bank of South Africa Limited in relation to their financing of three solar PV projects in the Renewable Energy Independent Power Produce Programme.
  • Advising the Standard Bank of South Africa Limited on a restructuring and share purchase transfer across various entities.
  • Advising two of the major South African banks in relation to their financing of a 100MW solar PV project to be developed in De Aar.
  • Advising international lenders to a South African developer in relation to the funding of a portfolio of solar PV project to be developed by the borrower and sold to an operator.
  • Advising a major South African bank in relation to their financing of the Construction of a 162.75 million litres per annum fuel ethanol plant based on grain sorghum starting with grain milling and ending with saleable fuel ethanol.
  • Advising provincial government on the redevelopment and modernization of a hospital and its facilities.
  • Assisting IFC on a USD 100 million loan facility for CRDB Bank PLC to support the growth of CRDB Bank’s micro, small and medium enterprises as well as women owned and led small and medium enterprises in Tanzania.
  • Currently assisting IFC on a loan facility for the refurbishment, expansion and extension of a hotel in Eastern Central Africa.
