Overview
Yasmeen Suliman is partner in our Durban office Corporate Department and a member of the Tax practice.
Yasmeen has over 20 years’ experience in tax and specializes in assisting companies with SARS audits, dispute resolution, advanced tax rulings, tax structuring, due diligences, audit related tax services and reviews, general tax compliance and advisory assignments, risk analyses on tax structures and systems.
She previously headed the KwaZulu-Natal tax practice of a leading auditing firm where she led a multidisciplinary team. Yasmeen also spent time as an integrated field auditor at the South African Revenue Service.
She was previously a member of the Tax Committee of the SA Institute of Chartered Accountants’ eastern region. Yasmeen was co-opted as a member of the Steering Committee on Islamic Financial Services at National Treasury, where her contribution resulted in specific tax legislation being enacted for certain Islamic Financial services products. She also serves on the Corporate Tax Operations Committee at the South African Institute of Tax Professionals.
Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Masters degree in financial accounting and a Masters degree in taxation from the University of Natal.
- Advanced Certificate in Value-Added Tax from the University of South Africa.
- Bachelor of Commerce degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Natal.
