Overview
Sian is a senior associate in our Dispute Resolution Department of our Cape Town office and a member of the Employment and Benefits Practice.
She has a keen interest in employee mobility and cross-border employment arrangements. She has a broad range of corporate employment law experience, including retrenchment law (both large and small-cale), executive dismissals, unfair dismissal and unfair labour practice claims, employment contract and workplace policy drafting, atypical employment arrangements, employment advisory work, workplace investigations, and employment due diligence processes in the context of corporate restructurings and M&A deals.
Experience
Sian’s experience includes:
- Assisting with the reformulating of workplace policies for several multinationals.
- Advising on large scale retrenchments for several multinational companies.
- Advising and drafting agreements in relation to complex cross-border working arrangements, including secondments, employers of record and contractor arrangements.
- Advising on the employment considerations of various M&A transactions, both nationally and cross-border.
- Conducting workplace investigations for multinationals, including in relation to sexual harassment claims.
- Part-time secondment with pharmaceutical multinational.
AREA OF EXPERTISE
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws degree (summa cum laude) from the University of the Western Cape.
