Experience

  • Acting for ship-owners and insurers of a container vessel that called at South Africa following a fire on board, to manage access and investigate the incident.
  • Acting for Sellers in the sale of a motor vessel.
  • Advising an exporter of rock powdered phosphate on sanctions imposed following the Russia-Ukraine war.
  • Advising ship owners, charterers and their insurers in respect of enforcement of international arbitration awards in South Africa and obtaining security for ongoing international arbitration proceedings.
  • Assisting ship owners, charterers and their insurers with ship arrests and associated ships arrests to obtain security for ongoing international arbitration proceedings.

Qualifications

  • B.Soc.Sci. (International Relations & Psychology) and LLB degrees from the University of Cape Town.
  • Member of the Maritime Law Association of South Africa.
