Overview
Precious is an associate in our Dispute Resolution Department in our Zambian office.
She specialises in employment-related litigation, commercial claims, debt recoveries, and administrative and judicial proceedings, including responding to claims, conducting and managing pre-trial discovery and trial work, and negotiating settlements.
Her expertise extends to corporate advisory, competition and regulatory law, conveyancing, mergers and acquisitions.
Experience
- Mopani Copper Mines PLC, a subsidiary of ZCCM Investment Holdings PLC, in an arbitration seated in London under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce in which Group R Limited is claiming about USD 7.2 million arising from a construction dispute.
- Absa Bank Zambia Plc, a part of Absa Group Limited an African financial services, in the matter Hedges Shimanza & 15 Others v. Barclays Bank Zambia Limited where former employees have sued Barclays for damages for wrongful termination and increment of salaries for certain class of employees.
- National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA), a mandatory, government defined contribution retirement savings scheme, against Stalwart Investments Limited, a construction and manufacturing company, in an arbitration dispute seated in Lusaka under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Arbitration Rules in which Stalwart is claiming damages of over ZMW 46 million following NAPSA’s termination of the ZMW 77.5 million Mufulira Mixed-Use Development construction contract, where Stalwart Investments Limited was engaged as the Contractor.
- JSI John Snow, Inc. (JSI), a global public health consulting organization, in relation to employment law advice and representation.
- Barloworld Logistics (Pty) Limited, a part of Barloworld Group Limited, an industrial processing, distribution, and services company in the matter Frederick Mwale and 51 Others v Barlowold Logistics (Pty) Limited where former employees have sued Barloworld for entitlements accrued while in its employ.
