Overview
Myra was admitted as an attorney, notary, and conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa in 2007 and as a legal practitioner of the High Court of Namibia in 2016.
Myra practices all aspects of commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance, and drafts and assists with the implementation of shareholder agreements and sale of share agreements. She also practices competition (antitrust) law including merger notifications and complaint proceedings involving prohibited business practices and abuses of dominance.
Myra’s primary areas of focus are banking and finance and project finance and she has experience in debt finance transactions including drafting, reviewing, negotiating and implementing term, revolving and borrowing base facility agreements as well as subordination agreements and all types of security agreements. She has provided advice on the provision of financing in relation to the design, construction, operation and maintenance of wind and solar farms in Namibia and advised on transactions for various banks and lead arrangers relating to loans made to and from Namibia as well as the security for the loans.
Myra has acted for clients in a number of industries, including the banking, wine, tobacco, fast-moving consumer goods, pharmaceutical, insurance and medical aid industries. She also has experience in South African and international intellectual property law.

- Acted as lender’s local counsel in relation to a USD 15 million bridge finance facility for a new gold mine in Namibia.
- Acted as the acquirer’s Namibian counsel in relation to a USD 155 million acquisition in the Namibian mining industry (a gold mine).
- Acted as lenders’ local counsel in relation to a USD 723,800,000 acquisition finance transaction.
- Acted as lenders’ local counsel on a USD 50 million refinancing of a power station.
- Acted as lenders’ local counsel for the financing of two 5MW photovoltaic plants in Namibia.
