Overview
Angela is a senior associate in our Corporate department and a member of our M&A practice.
She has experience in a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions, such as domestic and cross-border private M&A, share and asset/business acquisitions and disposals, black economic empowerment transactions, shareholder and joint venture arrangements, and general corporate and commercial matters. Angela also spent just under 2 years working at the London office of a global (‘magic circle’) law firm.
Experience
*Prior to joining Bowmans
- Part of the team which advised a global electronics entity based in America on the sale of its sole Russian subsidiary to a third party. *
- Part of the team which advised Hapag-Lloyd AG on acquiring a share in J M Baxi Ports & Logistics Limited. *
- Part of the team which advised an international industrial client on the disposal of one of its South African subsidiaries.
- Part of the team which advised a global exhibitions service provider on the acquisition of the (i) largest exhibition centre in Africa and (ii) the largest consumer exhibition in Southern Africa.
- Part of the team which advised a private equity fund and a group of co-investors, in the acquisition of a stake in a Malawi based integrated agricultural solutions provider (catering for a broad customer base of commercial and emerging farmers).
- Part of the team which advised a large corporate group on multiple solvent restructuring exercises intending to simplify the South African group structure.
- Part of the team which advised an American pump manufacturer on the restructuring of its South African group.
- Part of the team which advised a global exhibitions service provider on the establishment (with the South African Government) of a temporary quarantine facility at one of its premises during the COVID 19 pandemic.
AREA OF EXPERTISE
Qualifications
- LLB degree from the University of the Witwatersrand.
- Certificates in Advanced Company Law I and II from the Nelson Mandela Institute (University of the Witwatersrand).
- Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) 1 and, having secured an exemption for SQE 2, is in the course of preparing her application for admission as a solicitor of England and Wales.
