Overview
Alison Mellon is an experienced banking and finance lawyer, having worked on secured and syndicated lending, preference share funding and leveraged finance. She has expertise in other areas of banking and finance law too.
In her role as a knowledge lawyer, she focuses on knowledge asset development, thought leadership and current awareness, technical legal training, legal technology and innovation, and client value added services – all in relation to banking and financial services. Prior to this role, Alison worked as a senior associate in Bowmans’ finance practice.
In addition to transactional banking experience, Alison has worked at one of South Africa’s largest asset managers as in-house counsel.
Alison is admitted to the Law Society of South Africa. She has BA and LLB degrees (both awarded cum laude) from the University of Cape Town and a National Certificate in Financial Markets and Instruments.
